Satheesha Peiris – VCE Specialist Mathematics and Chemistry Tutor

Key qualifications and details:

To the class of 2016,

My name is Satheesha Peiris and I achieved an ATAR of 99.55, graduating in the 2015 John Monash Science School cohort.

Firstly, I am aware of the new Specialist Mathematics study design accredited for the 2016-2018 period, particularly the new Area of Study pertaining to Probability and Statistics. I will be studying Actuarial Science (a field heavily based on probability & statistics) at the University of Melbourne and will therefore be well versed with the new syllabus for Units 3/4 in 2016.

Year 12 can certainly be a stressful year and I will be highly flexible to suit your needs and style of learning. We can either work ahead to ensure additional time for practice exams and revision leading up to the VCAA examination period, or we can cover the course more slowly to ensure optimal understanding of underlying concepts.

In addition, I have a myriad of company practice exams that will be at your disposal, for both Specialist Mathematics and Chemistry.

Rates, location and scores

I attained a raw score of 46 for Specialist Mathematics, with an average of 95.4% in Monash University Extension Mathematics. These scores placed me as the top scorer for University Extension Mathematics and joint top scorer for Specialist Mathematics in my cohort at John Monash Science School.

I also achieved a raw score of 46 for Chemistry, a subject that I’m very passionate about. I’m a strong believer in learning conceptually, as opposed to rote techniques and VCE Chemistry is one such subject that requires this.

For convenience, I will be running lessons at the State Library in 2016. I live in the Blackburn area (eastern suburbs) and can also accommodate lessons at my house or neighbouring suburbs.

Prices are negotiable depending on individual or group tutoring.
