Key qualifications and details:
Hi everyone! I’m Jakob and I graduated from Vermont Secondary College in 2015 with an ATAR of 98.40, and I’m now studying Law/Arts at Monash University. I started tutoring early this year because I feel I have lots to offer in helping students achieve their best possible results.
As someone who hardly knew a word of French a few years ago and have never been to a French-speaking country, I know what a daunting subject French can be. Competing with those native speakers makes the high scores seem impossible. I’m here to show you exactly how it can be done! I scored 45 raw by understanding what is required in the exam and studying accordingly. My strengths are writing, and in particular speaking. I’d love to help you transform your general conversation and detailed study to something that will wow the examiners.
I also offer tutoring in History Revolutions, another subject I’m very passionate about. I studied the American and Russian Revolutions in year 12, however I also have experience tutoring the French Revolution. In sessions I will encourage critical analysis of course content, in order to develop a complex understanding of how and why things happen, which is what examiners are looking for. I will also help improve your historical writing style, through polishing written expression and working on effectively making arguments.
Having recently graduated, I understand the struggles of VCE. I will always be available to answer extra questions you may have, and happy to assist with time management and organisational skills. I will also provide you with the notes and example essays at my disposal.
