Selina Lin – VCE Japanese Second Language Tutor

Key qualifications and details:

Hi, I’m Selina! I graduated in 2014 from Huntingtower School with an ATAR of 99.50. I now study at Monash University, majoring in Japanese Studies.

As I was also a VCE student, I know what it’s like to struggle through grammar and complain about vague listening task questions, but on the flip side, I’ve also been privileged enough to be taught by great teachers and tutors and learn how fun it was to study and use Japanese. Thanks to these experiences I was inspired to become a tutor and spread my love of languages past the classroom – while passing VCE is extremely important, Japanese is a skill that you can take with you way past high school.

For anyone who wants to fill in the gaps in their knowledge or maybe get ahead of the pack, I’m happy to customise lessons to boost your abilities, as well as providing you with the many resources I have gathered during my years of tutoring.

Whether it’s grammar, speaking, listening, reading, or kanji, don’t hesitate to tell me what it is you need, and we can work through it, getting you to what you want to achieve.

As a Year 11 in 2013, I achieved a 47 raw score for Japanese SL. I also recently passed the highest level (N1) for the Japanese Language Proficiency Test.
